Do you have an examination to pass in your French studies, for which you still don’t feel 100% prepared? Our online French teachers will help you with our preparation course for the DELF test (Diplome d’Etudes en Langue Française – French Language Study Diploma).
The DELF test is composed of four independent diplomas that correspond the 4 first levels of the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B1 and DELF B2. The course lasts between 5 weeks and 3 months for finishing a level. To learn French completely, it takes about 2 years.
The DALF test (Diplôme Avancé de Langue Française) corresponds to the last 2 levels of the CEFRL, i.e. DALF C1 y DALF C2. They certificate a level of mastery of the language; the C2 level proves the capacity to use the language as if it were one’s mother tongue.
The A1 level of the DELF test is the first one, it corresponds to a very basic knowledge of the language. It is an elementary level of discovery, it evaluates the initial competencies of the students who can make simple interactions, talk about themselves and their immediate surroundings.
The A2 level is the second one, passing this level demonstrates that the student has a basic level of French. This level deepens the elemental knowledge of the student. As with the previous level, the student is able to realize simple tasks of daily life. They can use most of the formulas of education and exchange.
With the B1 level of the DELF test, you will be able to work in France. The progression from A2 to B1 is a real jump. The student is much more independent. Students can start and maintain a conversation and write correctly, i.e. using the appropriate formulas. Also, they can manage an unexpected situation with confidence in everyday life.
Passing the B2 level of the DELF test will open up more doors to you in France. The student shows independence. They are able to build an argument, defend an idea or develop propositions. They will also be able to detect and correct their own mistakes. This level is proof that one dominates the social discourse.
The DALF C1 level nearly corresponds to the native level. Companies often use this as a requirement in their job interviews because it denotes a really good level of French. The student is autonomous, able to establish a fluid and spontaneous conversation. They have a rich vocabulary and can choose the adequate expression to introduce their observations. Their discourse is clear, well constructed and they doesn’t show doubts.
The DELF test (Diplome d’Etudes en Langue Française – French Language Study Diploma) is a certification of French level that fulfills the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) standards. It is internationally recognized. It has 4 levels, from A1 (beginner level) to C2 (native speaker level). At C1 and C2 levels, it becomes DALF (Diplôme Avancé de Langue Française).
